Are you a tech-savvy individual who enjoys tackling hardware and software issues? As a Desktop Support Engineer Intern at GBS Group, you will manage installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting to ensure our desktop systems run optimally. This 12-month paid internship offers a chance to gain valuable experience and skills in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and Configuration: Set up and configure desktop computers and peripherals
  • User Support: Provide support via phone, email, or face-to-face
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues
  • Software Management: Install and update software
  • Team Collaboration: Work with the IT team on projects
  • Equipment Management: Track IT gear and support printer-related tasks
  • Security Champion: Assist with anti-virus challenges and system security

Qualifications

  • Matric + 3-Year Diploma/Degree in IT from a public tertiary institution
  • A+ or N+ certifications are required
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft operating systems (Windows 10/11)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and IT hardware components
  • Must be a South African citizen aged between 18-35
  • Must reside in or around KwaZulu-Natal
  • Must not be employed or part of another internship/learnership program
  • Must not have previously completed an internship (SETA/Government)
